Call for Papers

The University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, specifically the Faculty of Economics, Business Administration and Tourism, together with the Town Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana shall be hosting the:

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON INTEGRAL DEVELOPMENT OF TOURIST DESTINATIONS
AND THE
I CONFERENCE ON ACTIVE/SPORTS TOURISM & SUSTAINABILITY

This conference will be held within the framework of the V INTERNATIONAL MASPALOMAS COSTA CANARIA TOURISM FORUM, that will take place next 14h and 15th December 2017, and will count with the collaboration of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), l’Université Ibn Zohr (through L’Ecole de Commerce et de Gestion) – Agadir (Morocco), the Polytechnic Institute of Setubal (Portugal) , the Rochelle Business School (France) and the Center of Tourism and Economics Studies (CETURE).

The main aim of this conference is to create an international forum where academics, researchers, professionals and students may discuss different aspects concerning competitiveness, trends, innovation, etc., together with business initiatives launched in island destinations. Likewise, it aims to foster collaboration by means of multidisciplinary relations in both the tourist sector and academic fields.

All submitted papers must be original, without having been published or presented prior to this conference. Final deadline for full paper submission is 14th SEPTEMBER, 2017 and must be sent in PDF format to:

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Margins: 2,5 cm on all four sides.
  • Papers: Should have a minimum of 4,500 words, but should not exceed 7,000.
  • Language: Spanish, English, French and Portuguese.
  • The front page shall include the following:
    • Paper Title: Capital Letters, in TIMES NEW ROMAN, POINT 12 (selected font style and size). The text should be single-spaced (1).
    • Short author CV: Two to three lines per each author, including author’s full name and lastname, an e-mail address and his/her position within his/her Organism/University/Company, his/her city and country. (Times New Roman 10, single-line spacing).
    • Abstracts: Analytical summary of the paper to be presented, written both in Spanish and English, but not exceeding 160 words in each language. (Times New Roman 10, single-line spacing).
    • Keywords: Select three to five keywords in both Spanish and English.
  • Main Body: Times New Roman, point 11 (selected font style and size). The text should be single-spaced (1).
  • Epigraphs: Will be numbered, down to the third level, with Arabic numerals (1., 1.1., 1.2.1.,etc.).

  • References: Concerning homogeneity, quotation and reference criteria, please use them in accordance with those set out by the American Psychological Association (APA, 2010), an international standard applied to all types of scientific presentations.

LOGOS SHOULD NOT BE INCLUDE IN THE PAPER.

REVIEW

The Scientific Committee shall issue an “evaluation report”. The result of the evaluation may result in: acceptance, acceptance with form reviews, acceptance with background reviews or rejected.

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • 14th september 2017: Deadline for FULL PAPER submissions.
  • 25th september 2017: Deadline to submit the final versión of the accepted paper and the forms to autorized the publication.

If we do not receive it, we shall understand that you do not want to present it or publish it.

  • 16th october: Deadline for registration: Deadline to register, if you want the communication to be published.
  • 14th & 15th december 2017: V FORUM AND CONFERENCE

REGISTRATION AND FEES:

Before 15th november 2017:

  • Participants with paper: 60 Euros
  • Participants without paper: free (must register)

After 16th november 2017:

  • Participants with paper: 80 Euros
  • Participants without paper: free (must register)

The Organizing Board has the obligation of including any selected paper in a final Conference publication, but is not obliged to finance or pay for any costs concerning travel or attendance of any speaker. Only the papers of those speakers who register as “Participant with paper” (“participante con comunicación”) will be published. Furthermore, selected papers will count with 10 minutes for their presentation.

Participants with papers must register as “Participant with paper” (“participante con comunicación”).

If the paper has several authors, only the author/s that is/are registered as “participant with paper” will receive the certificate.
