Commercial Manager of the Las Palmas Port Authority

Graduate in Nautical Sciences by the former Top Technician School of Civil Navy of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (now Top Technician College of Nautical Sciences, University of La Laguna), he became Captain of Merchant Navy in 1982.

After being appointed to diverse sea routes on the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean by several international shipping lines, he assumed his first ashore position as Port Captain during the launching of the Mogán Port (Gran Canaria), an occupation he combines with port assessment and consultancy services.

In 1993 he incorporated to the Port Authority of Las Palmas, where he has been running several areas concerning port operations, security and protection, quality procedures and customer services. Currently he is working as Commercial Manager of the Port Authority of Las Palmas, thus developing an intense activity in international markets related with the Offshore industry and holiday Cruises.

During this pandemics context, he has focused his efforts, as representative of the Port Administration, within the working group in charge of resuming a safe and gradual cruise traffic in the different ports of the Canary Islands.
