María Gracia Pedrero Balas, a graduate in Law from the University of Seville, has more than 30 years of professional experience linked to the Public Administration, as a civil servant of Group A1, having occupied in the Excmo. In the last decade I have also been head of the legal-administrative service for urban planning in the Canary Islands Government, with extensive administrative procedures related to urban and regional planning. As a mere indication, since it covers a long period, it is worth mentioning that during my time as head of this service, the adaptation to the Law of Guidelines of the General Plans of Puerto del Rosario and Betancuria in Fuerteventura have been reported, processed and approved. The Yaiza Supplementary General Development Plan and the Teguise General Plan in Lanzarote. The General Plans of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Arucas, Santa María de Guía and the Supplementary General Development Plans of Teror, La Aldea de San Nicolás and Santa Brígida.

Also during this period I have processed the Modernisation Plans, improvement and increase of the competitiveness of the Tourist sector of Maspalomas in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Costa Mogán, Corralejo, Puerto del Carmen, Teguise, Caleta de Fuste etc. and I have been part of collegiate bodies such as the Insular Commission of Historical Heritage or the Technical Committee of the C.O.T.M.A.C.

Currently, since 15 April 2021 to date, I have been working as a managerial body in the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, within the Government Area of Planning, Urban Development and Housing, the Directorate General of Building and Activities, responsible among other competences for the granting of urban planning licenses, public shows, the conservation and rehabilitation of buildings and the protection of environmental, territorial and urban planning legality.
